Freshness & Temporal Signals
Presence of recency markers — publication dates, current statistics, time-bounded claims, and recent regulatory or market references that signal to LLMs the content is current and worth surfacing over older alternatives. This signal is tracked separately because temporal relevance has an independent effect on citation probability that is not captured within content quality signals.
