What LSSBB certification actually means.
The LSSBB is the highest practitioner-level certification in Lean Six Sigma methodology. It requires demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis, process improvement project leadership, and change management.

How a Lean Six Sigma engagement works
Our Lean Six Sigma work is led by a certified Black Belt (LSSBB) and runs 4–8 weeks once started, depending on how much data needs to be gathered and how many process steps are involved. The aim is an improvement that holds after we leave, not a one-off clean-up.
Define the problem
On a free 30-minute call we agree which process frustrates people most, what has been tried before and why it did not hold. We then write a short project charter with a clear problem statement, scope boundaries and the measures that will show success.
Map and measure
We build a value stream map of the process end to end with the people who do the work, then collect baseline data on cycle time, defects, rework and waiting time. Where data does not exist, we set up simple ways to capture it.
Analyse root causes
Using DMAIC tools such as root cause analysis and statistical process control, we separate the symptoms from the causes. The output is a ranked list of causes backed by data, so effort goes where it makes the biggest difference.
Improve, often through a Kaizen event
We redesign the process with your team, test the changes on a small scale and then roll them out. Changes are documented as standard operating procedures so the new way of working is clear to everyone.
Control and hand over
Control charts, KPIs and a simple review rhythm keep the gains in place. Once the process is stable, the obvious next question is what can be automated, which is where robotic process automation (RPA) comes in.
What it costs
Lean Six Sigma projects are quoted as a fixed fee per improvement project or training program. We work on fixed fees, not hourly rates: one price, a defined scope and a timeline, agreed before anything starts. If the work takes us longer than planned, that is our risk, not yours, and any change in scope is re-quoted before the next phase rather than added to an invoice.
The main things that move the price are:
- The number of processes and departments involved
- How much baseline data exists versus how much we need to collect
- Whether the work includes a Kaizen event or a longer DMAIC project
- Belt training for your team alongside the improvement work
We normally invoice Lean Six Sigma work half at the start and half on delivery (40/30/30 for bigger scopes), in CAD. A short brief is all we need to return a fixed-fee proposal within 48 hours.

Do we need our own Black Belt to run a Lean Six Sigma project?
No. We provide the Black Belt leadership. Your team contributes process knowledge and time for workshops and data collection. Many clients use the project as a way to build internal capability at the same time.
Do you offer belt training for our staff?
Yes. Belt training can be delivered on its own or alongside a live improvement project, which is usually more effective because your people apply the methods to a real process with real data.
What is the difference between DMAIC and Kaizen?
DMAIC is a structured five-phase method for complex problems where the cause is not obvious and data analysis is needed. A Kaizen event is a short, focused workshop to remove waste from a well-understood process quickly. We often use both in one engagement.
Why did our previous improvements not stick?
The most common reasons are that changes were never written into standard work, nobody owned the new measures, and there was no review rhythm. Our Control phase is designed to fix exactly that, with SOPs, control charts and a named process owner.
Does Lean Six Sigma work outside manufacturing?
Yes. The same methods apply to finance, procurement, HR, IT, customer service and public sector processes. Anywhere work flows through steps, there is waiting, rework and handoff waste that can be measured and removed.
